Lifetime Workmanship Warranty & 18-Month FREE Windshield Protection Plan

Protection That Goes Beyond the Installation
At Local Auto Glass, our responsibility does not end when your vehicle leaves our shop or driveway. Every piece of glass is installed with safety, durability, and long-term performance in mind. We stand behind our workmanship for as long as the original customer owns the vehicle.
Lifetime Workmanship Warranty
If a problem results from our installation, Local Auto Glass will inspect the vehicle and correct the covered workmanship issue at no labor charge.
This warranty applies for as long as the original customer owns the serviced vehicle. It is nontransferable and applies only to work performed and invoiced by Local Auto Glass.
Lifetime No-Leak Protection

Our Lifetime Workmanship Warranty includes protection against both water leaks and installation-related air leaks.

If water enters through an area sealed during our installation, or if an improper installation causes air leakage or unusual wind noise, contact us promptly. We will inspect the vehicle and correct any covered installation-related sealing problem.

This protection applies to leaks caused by our workmanship. It does not cover leaks or noises caused by pre-existing body damage, deteriorated seams, sunroofs, roof racks, door seals, previous repairs, collision damage, rust, structural movement, or another condition unrelated to our installation.
Premium Automotive-Glass Urethane Systems

The adhesive holding a windshield in place is a critical part of the installation. Local Auto Glass uses professional automotive-glass urethane systems selected for strength, reliability, compatibility, and safe return-to-service performance.

Our preferred systems include premium advanced cure Sika products such as SikaTack® MACH-30 XV and SikaTack® ULTIMATE both with a 30-minute Minimum Safe Drive Away Time, specifically designed for today's vehicles and technology.

Applicable Sika systems are crash-tested according to FMVSS 212 windshield-retention test conditions. We follow the adhesive manufacturer’s required preparation, application, temperature, humidity, and Minimum Drive-Away Time instructions.

The required drive-away time may vary depending on the product, vehicle, weather, temperature, humidity, and installation conditions. Your technician will tell you when the vehicle may be safely driven. Do not drive the vehicle before that time.

Our goal is not simply to hold the glass in place. It is to create a reliable bond that supports the windshield’s intended safety and structural performance.

Minor Rust and Corrosion Treatment Included

Rust and corrosion can weaken the bonding surface beneath the windshield. Because this area is normally hidden, existing corrosion may not become visible until the old glass has been removed.

When we discover minor or treatable surface corrosion, Local Auto Glass will normally address it as part of the installation without an additional labor charge.

Depending on the condition and the adhesive system being used, our preparation may include:

  • Removing accessible loose rust and corrosion

  • Cleaning and preparing the affected bonding surface

  • Applying an appropriate corrosion-treatment or neutralizing product

  • Applying compatible automotive pinchweld primer, including multiple coats when required

  • Following the adhesive manufacturer’s preparation and flash-time requirements

  • Preparing the surface to support a proper adhesive bond and dependable seal

Many companies charge separately for this additional work or immediately refer the customer to a body shop. When the condition can be safely treated within the scope of an auto-glass installation, we take the additional preparation steps needed to support the longevity and reliability of our work, completely free-of-charge.

Minor corrosion treatment is not the same as permanent body or metal restoration. It cannot guarantee that pre-existing rust will never return or spread.

Severe corrosion, perforated metal, structural deterioration, previous improper repairs, or damage requiring welding, fabrication, painting, or refinishing must be repaired by a qualified body shop. If substantial additional work is required, we will explain the condition and obtain authorization before proceeding whenever reasonably possible.

Pre-existing corrosion and future deterioration originating from that condition are not covered by our workmanship warranty. Corrosion directly caused by an error in our installation is covered.
Other Covered Workmanship Concerns
Covered workmanship issues may include:

  • Improper glass positioning or placement

  • An incomplete or improper adhesive seal

  • Installation-related water or air leaks

  • Installation-related wind noise

  • Loose, lifted, or improperly installed moldings

  • Clips, trim, or related components installed incorrectly

  • Windshield wipers positioned incorrectly after service

  • A vehicle feature left disconnected or inoperative because of our installation

  • Damage or corrosion directly caused by our workmanship

  • Another installation error affecting the safety, integrity, appearance, or intended operation of the completed work

Coverage applies only when the condition resulted from work performed by Local Auto Glass.

If You Discover a Problem
Contact Local Auto Glass immediately after discovering a possible workmanship concern, preferably within seven days of discovering it.

Call or text 617-959-1884 and provide your name, vehicle information, original invoice number when available, photographs, and a description of the concern.

You must give Local Auto Glass a reasonable opportunity to inspect and correct the condition before another person or business removes, repairs, adjusts, or alters the glass or related components.
Do not allow a friend, mechanic, body shop, dealership, glass company, or other third party to work on the area before our inspection. Unauthorized third-party work may prevent us from determining the original cause and may void warranty coverage for the affected condition.
Every situation is different. After inspection, we will explain whether the concern is related to our installation and what corrective action is appropriate. When the problem is covered, we will normally correct it and return the vehicle to service without a workmanship labor charge.
Work performed by another person without prior written authorization from Local Auto Glass will not be reimbursed.

BENIFITS FOR "SELF-PAYING" CUSTOMERS WITHOUT AUTOMOTIVE GLASS COVERAGE ONLY

-Exclusive 18-Month Windshield Protection Plan acts as insurance coverage

-Protection Against New Road Damage—not Just Installation Problems

-A standard workmanship warranty protects against installation errors. It does not -normally help when a new stone strikes a properly installed windshield.

-Local Auto Glass goes further by including a complimentary 18-Month Windshield -Protection benefit with qualifying windshield replacements paid directly by the customer without automobile-insurance coverage.

*This additional protection is separate from our Lifetime Workmanship Warranty.

What the 18-Month Protection Includes

For 18 months from the original installation date:

  • If the covered windshield suffers new road damage that can be safely repaired, Local Auto Glass will perform the eligible chip repair at no charge.

  • If the new damage cannot be safely repaired and another windshield is necessary, the original customer may receive replacement assistance equal to 50% of the current glass-only price.

The replacement benefit applies only to the price of the replacement glass. Labor, urethane, moldings, clips, sensors, mobile-service charges, disposal fees, ADAS calibration, taxes, and other necessary parts or services are not included unless stated otherwise in writing.

Unless an invoice specifically provides otherwise, replacement assistance is limited to one use per covered windshield and does not automatically begin a new 18-month protection period.

Protection Plan Requirements

To qualify:

  • The original windshield replacement must have been paid directly by the customer without an insurance claim.

  • The customer must provide the original invoice or enough information for us to locate the service record.

  • The benefit applies only to the original customer, vehicle, and windshield installed by Local Auto Glass.

  • Local Auto Glass must inspect the damage and determine whether it can be safely repaired.

  • All covered repair or replacement work must be performed or authorized by Local Auto Glass.

  • The customer must report the damage before another company repairs or replaces the windshield.

  • The account must be paid in full and in good standing.

The benefit has no cash value, is nontransferable, and does not reimburse work performed by another company.

Collision, vandalism, intentional damage, falling objects, weather events, body damage, rust, structural problems, and damage caused by misuse or unauthorized work are excluded.

Insurance-Covered Windshield Replacements

Insurance-paid replacements are not enrolled in the complimentary 18-Month Windshield Protection benefit.

Customers with applicable comprehensive glass coverage may already qualify for eligible windshield-chip repairs through their insurer, sometimes with no out-of-pocket cost. Coverage, deductibles, claim approval, and policy terms vary by insurer.

Local Auto Glass will help eligible insured customers understand and complete the chip-repair claim process whenever possible.
