Drive-Away Time & Windshield Aftercare

A good appointment ends with clear instructions. Know when you can drive and how to look after your replacement glass.

Installation time and drive-away time are different

The adhesive needs time to develop the required bond. Minimum drive-away time depends on the specific product and the installation conditions. Your technician should tell you when the vehicle may move; do not assume every replacement is ready immediately or after the same fixed number of minutes.

What about car washes and tape?

Ask for the instructions that apply to your installation. Confirm when automatic washes or pressure washing are allowed, whether retention tape has been fitted and when it can be removed. Keep those instructions with your service paperwork. General online timelines cannot replace the requirements for the adhesive and materials actually used.

What should I check before leaving?

    • Confirm the release time.
    • Understand any washing and tape restrictions.
    • Ask whether required camera calibration is complete.
    • Keep the invoice, instructions and any calibration results.

Leaks, noise or warning lights

Tell us promptly about new water leaks, unusual wind noise, loose trim or driver-assistance warnings. Explain when the issue occurs and share photos where useful. Do not attempt to reseal the glass yourself before we assess it. If visibility or safe operation is affected, stop using the vehicle and contact us for guidance.
